I finally got to go to the track last night after getting new tires put on the Pony wheels I bought a month or two ago. It was a blast, and I'm pretty happy with my performance, considering it was my first time. Tell me what what you guys think I could improve upon (try not to laugh too hard at the first two RT's) Mods are in sig.

First Run: RT: .659
60': 2.238
ET: 14.928
MPH: 93.869

2nd Run: RT: .638
60': 2.174 (Best 60')
ET: 14.774 (Best ET)
MPH: 94.674

3rd Run: RT: .189 (Best RT)
60': .2309
ET: 14.917
MPH: 94.949 (Best MPH)

I know the car (and also myself) have alot of room for improvement yet. I am, however, pretty impressed with myself for my 60' times, leaving at 2000 RPM on 225/55/16 Daytona HR's.

Tell me what you think :D

I don't understand how people can just launch from 2000 rpm with street tires and get like a 2.1 60 foot.....I have to launch from friggin idle and I still roast the tires off. :nonono:
:stupid:
I cant hook for crap on street tires. My best 60' is about a 2.28 and ive tried every rpm I can think of

You need a set of heads or cam change cause your MPH is way low for your mods, I think you have lots of goddies being held back by a major weak link..probably a cam being choked by bad heads..change them up and I bet your good for 100MPH plus. Stock heads will kill any gain form a good cam.

Thanks for the advice. I know the cars serious weak point is the heads, but I like to think that what is on there now is a good foundation to build upon. Funds are limited as of now, and I'll need to convert to mass air as well. What would you guys recommend for heads? For money reasons, probably iron heads.

The cam was already in the car when I bought it. The cam specs are:
210/215 degrees @0.050, 0.533/0.533" lift

Thanks!

Low price+REAL GOOD HEADS=Thumper heads.
Some guys will tell you to do it yourself but no one cleans up a set of heads and gives you the flow numbers of the big dollar heads and valve springs you need for an aftermarket cam like thumper does for 600. shipped.

Yup, ported heads are where it's at. Mines got ported heads/intake, 1.7rr, CAI, pulleys, full exhaust and 3.55 gears and i've run an 8.95 1/8 at 84.6mph with a 2.06 60ft.....that's with plain old 245/50/19 Dunlop SP radials. No Drag Radials or Slicks for this kid!....wonder what that translates to in 1/4 mile?

Thanks for all the advice guys.

I have a Holley fuel pressure regulator on her as of now, so I'm happy to hear that my fuel system should be okay, minus a fuel pump.

What I would like to do first is convert the car to mass air before putting anything else on it. Are there any links to know exactly what parts are needed? I'd like to start collecting parts piece by piece, I'm just really trying to stay on a budget lately because I'm closing on my first house at the end of this mont :spot:

Not to get on someone elses thread but I also made it to the track for the first itme ever yesterday only got one run in cause my alternater fied for some stupid reason but what do you think about these times I did a 10-15 second burnout in second witht the tires at 15psi and dropped at about 4500-5000

R/T .197
60 1.952
1/4 13.364
mph 104.70
Are these pretty good numbers for what I have or should they be lower

well that sucks I thought I did good but then again it was the first time I tried it so I guess I will have to work on that hopefully going back up wedsday night if the rain holds out thanks for the input though I learn something new everyday.besides the redlight are my times good for what I have or should they be lower
