Lets just say that the adive i was given "your gonna need an 8.8 in there" was some damn good advice...my first run was real sloppy, had a slow start, almost thought i was in 3rd gear.....so second run came around...dry hopped the tires, staged and this time reved to about 2,500 rpm to try to get a better start...car went forward about 6 inches, then the loudest hardest sound came from down below....luckily it didnt blow through the cover....but man....its smoked..........so where do i start now guys?

thanks,
ryan

PS- got a vid of my first run and my rear end goin out if anyoen is iterested....

ohhhhhh. thats right! i didnt pay close attention to your sig.... yep no way that v6 rear can take the tq. If i was you I would go to a salvage yard, pick up a whole carrier assembly for under a grand and bolt it up. while you have the carrier, throw some gears in the rear end and go try that **** again.lol

Dam im sorry to hear that man, but god never intended a 7.5 for a v8 , but nosing around a junkyard fora 8.8 could be a good start.

if you try a salvage yard try finding a v-6 explorer 8.8 i believe those already have 4.10's if not a 94-95 GT rear is good. they are slighty narrower and allow a wider rear rim/tire combo on 99 stangs.

lol almost every ls1 owner i know has scattered his rear at least once. Gatta hand it to ford, ****ty transmitions, but the 8.8 is almost bullitproof.
