werid tranny noise

hey guys im new to the forum i drive a 94 gt manual tranny the motor and drive train are fairly stock ive gotta 3 73 gear in the ass end....my tranny towards the top end of 3rd gear and cruising in 4th and 5th it tends to whine a little bit i just recently changed the tranny fluid with royal purple syncromax and it seemed to smooth my shifts but did nothing for the noise anyone have some ideas about what this noise might be

Mine whines through mostly first and second gears, almost sounds like a supercharger. I was told by the previous owner that its been doing this for as long as he can remember and I was told by others that its normal for a T5 and not to worry about it I don't think its the toughout bearing or the pilot bearing, because it will not make a sound if I rev it in neutral.

Could still be the throw out bearing. Mine is doing the same thing. Does the sound go away when you engage the clutch?

I agree with the TOB.... my car was the same... granted I knew my TOB was shot and squealing but I had a geardrive/blower kind of sound on acceleration that is now gone after changing the clutch, TOB, and retainer...
