you should know some of this, but for the sake of the post i'm going to put it anyways.

dry kit, adds only nitrous before the throttle body.

pros: no fuel puddling in the intake, easier install, initial kit is cheaper.

cons: injectors must make up extra fuel load., will need larger injectors/maf.
temporary lean condition every time you hit the juice(this is milliseconds, while the car "catches up" to the nitrous.
must get a tune with more than a 100 shot.

wet kit, adds fuel and nitrous before the throttle body.

pros: dont need to upgrade injectors/maf because the kit supplies its own fuel. can run a much bigger shot without a tune.

cons: fuel puddling can happen (blowing intake to pieces)
kit is more expensive to begin with.

IMO a wet kit is the way to go, if you get an rpm window switch (dont spray below 2800 rpm) the threat of fuel puddling is basically none. and you dont risk running lean and popping your engine.

PS; anytime you run any power adder, weither it be a turbo, blower, nitrous, on a stock motor, it can blow. with the proper saftey measures, you can run max 150 shot on a stock motor, 100 is more common, and safer, but either way, its a coin toss, the motor could run great for years, or it could blow up the first shot.. power adders = coin toss.

what is the proper way to beef up the engine before the nitrous?
how much would these mods cost?

do you prefer NO2 or a supercharger?

I just installed NX wet plate kit after alot of question and reading post and I tell you it is worth it. I havent been to the track yet or the dyno (hopefully next week) but I played around a little on the highway and it is by far a great feeling when you reach 3k and it kicks on.

I am shooting a 100 shot for now and I also ordered an SCT excallibrator for a little extra safety and tweaking ability that should be here next week.

Go with a wet kit you wont be disappointed.

to get buy on a stock motor you need.
wide open throttle switch
rpm window switch
colder burning plugs
and you SHOULD get a tune, but some people dont.

that will get you by on a stock motor, but like mentioned before, its a gamble no matter what.

to be safe, you need stronger pistons and rods.

as for the blower/nitrous/turbo argument, none is better than the other, its all about preferance..

they are all equally dangerous if used properly, a stock motor is in danger at 400 hp regardless of how you get it.

nitrous, cheaper, car will still run and drive nicely when not on the bottle, and is better on gas when not on the bottle.

blower, easy install (compared to turbo), has power all the time, worst on gas out of the 3.

turbo. most expensive, hardest install, but will make the most power, and has better gas milage than blown cars usually. another perk of the turbo is your car wont be AS loud as a equal HP car either NA or blown, as the turbo is in your exaust, it quiets the exaust down quite a bit.
