(I did a search and I could not find an answer to my question.) I have a homemade cold air intake setup which puts my K&n filter real low, like maybe 10 inches from the ground. I ran my fingers on it and it was really dirty and wet. I am afraid of getting water in the engine. I could get rid of the whole set up but I noticed a huge power increase when I installed it and i don't want to lose that. I remember reading somewhere about a screen of some sort that won't let water in. Anyone know what this is??? Anyone know what it's called and where I can find it??? Thank you.

Thats not a good sign. you should move the filter into the upper fenderwell and make a ram air set up. Use dryer hoses, 1 end to filter and the other in the middle of the front bumper, and put a sheild on both end to be safe. I think the huge power increase that you felt could be coming from the wind as you drive, or I could be wrong.

Sooner or later, all that dirt and water will get through the filter - or worse, a rock, big bug or whatever you've allowed your air filter to pickup is going to make its way into your engine...this would not be good. Time to rethink your setup...IMO
