Wet Wax?

Man that takes all the fun out of having a rustang by letting somebody else wash and brush her. :nono:

I AGREE 100%!!! (if "Fang" actually meant "Mustang" and not "Rustang") :D
I take a lot of pride in detailing my vehicles, but that's just me. I really enjoy it...

But to answer your question. I've heard that Wet Waxes (a.k.a. Liquid Waxes) apply/remove easier and they allow you to wax your car in direct-sunlight, but the down-side is that Wet Waxes don't last as long as "standard" waxes. I've been told to steer clear of liquid waxes and stick with the standard waxes.

Reign - Liquid waxes cannot be applied in direct sunlight. Wet or not, the heat will "bake" it onto your car, making it difficult to remove. As for durability, I tend to agree with you on that but it's up for debate

Thanks for correcting me; I was just going-by what the guy @ my Local Auto store told me.

Well, got Sally back from the detail shop. OMG, I have never made a car look this good! I know some of you guys said you'd rather do it yourself, but to me-money well spent. Sometimes, it's cool to turn it over to a pro!. :jaw:

CONGRATS!!! I'm glad to hear that you LOVE IT!!! :nice:

Pics

Sorry, but before I could get some decent pics, it rained and it no longer looks like it did. I can tell you though, it looked better than the day I picked it up from the dealer. They found some light scratches in the trunk lid and tailight lens' and buffed them out. The wax job was better than I could ever do. The interior is spectacular, treated the leather, cleaned the carpets. Total charge was $125.

I have been using wet wax since before they invented wet wax. Put the (liquid) wax on with a wet rag and take it off with a damp rag, then buff it with a dry rag. you will be amazed at how easy the wax comes off and how nice it looks ;) Glad to hear the car came out nice, though!

No problem man. If you guys are looking for good info on detailing, Meguiar's has a forum dedicateed to that. can I post the site or is that against forum rules?

I love using Poorboys World Natty's wax. Check out www.obsessivedetail.com for desription of it.

Sealants are getting very popular now too. I'm getting more and more customers requesting me to put on sealant that wax. Sealant is more durable and last a couple months longer.

A question for you: I just took delivery of my new Mustang. I'm guessing that it was built either the week of 14 August or 21 August. Is there a recommended length of time that I should wait before waxing the new car?
