hey guys just wondering what brand of axles everyone is using and what carrier should i get? i would like to upgrade to 31 because i plan to use slicks!

i have heard of people using the ford truck 31spline carrier! what is the ford part number on that? what is the c clip elimantors and would i need that?
i have 95 mustang gt!

what parts would i need to do the install? and what are usally the prices on these parts?

axles, carrier with a 4.10 gear i already have a t/a girdle cover!

Get the ford 31 spline t-lok and superior axles. You do not need C clip eliminators as the rear disc rotor will prevent the axles from coming out of the rear end in the event of a C clip failure. Some santionaing bodies require C clip eliminators at certain speeds, but the eliminators on the market can not be used with ABS cars since it goes where the ABS exciter ring is loacted. Mark Williams motorsports can make you a custom rear with C clip elim's while retaining your ABS but they are the only company I know of to offer it and its $$$. Stay away from strange axles, we have bent 3 sets of their SS axles.

Thanks for the compliments! Your car is sweet man! I saw your car in the magazine and love the way it looks with those CCW wheels, hood and cobra bumper... mean as hell! I remember seeing you on the corral too. Its good to see you over here too... this is a much more "relaxed" atmosphere than over there IMO.

Based on your combo (even without knowing the cam specs) I'd bet you need at a minimum a 4.10, and maybe even a 4.30 gear to take advantage of those higher flowing/higher reving parts. What gear did Ed recommend? What gears do you have now? I "may" be stepping my combo up a notch here soon since I hurt the motor on my last track outing, I just don't know what I'm going to do yet. :(

last night i ordered a frpp 31 spline trak lok, axles, gears, install kit for 740 shipped from john bleakley ford. i don't have any exp w/ these parts, but the price is right and its hard to go wrong with ford parts

The part # for FRPP's 31 spline Trac-lok is M-4204-F318 (same as Production trucks). You could also go with PN M-4204-F318C only difference being those come with carbon fiber clutch plates. Those were used in the 03-04 Cobras IRS. I don't have my price list handy, but if I remember correctly they go for around $290 for the F318 and $3?? for the F381C.

As for the axleshafts, I'd either go with Moser or Superior. I paid $275 for my shafts with the exciter ring mounts for ABS. I think it was an extra 15 miore for that option. That price was for them delivered to my front door. :nice:

yeah he said minimum of 4.10s i currently have 3.73s he said especially since i have the 6speed with a 2.97 first gear vrs t-5 with a 3.35 1st

what i think might be hurting me is the trick flow r intake, what intake would you think would help me out more. the r intake is for 2500 to 7250 rpm but maybe its not that bad!

I personally think the TF R intake is too much, but then again I don't know what your cam is designed to do. Check the usable RPM range of the cam and go from there. If it signs off at or before 6500 I'd opt for something like an Edelbrock RPM II or a holley systemax II intake, if its designed with a peak around 5500-5800 then a regular edelbrock would be a good choice. Honestly, the BEST person to ask would be Ed since he designed the cam, I'm sure he'd recommend the best fit for you.
