I had a 96 5.0 and a 98 4.0 sOHc, the SOHC was never more than half a car length behind the 5.0. Hp differance of the two engines is 15 HP (stated in brochure) Now the TQ is differnt but I would assume a 2 door splorer with the SOHC isnt that slow, for an SUV that is

IDK Ryan I could be wrong, I worked at Ford from 99-02 and never ever saw a v-8 2-door one I had a 4.0 SOHC auto Ranger and it was def faster than my first GT Stang Good luck with it, hope it all works out and if you get dads Gt its all good. Wish I could have my Dads Stang

Why did you go from Stang to an Explorer? 3k would have bought you an LX hatch which would have been in nicer condition than your vert.

its called practicality for me right now....after this was all said and done i got 3k from the insurance and 1k after i sold the stang. i spent 2,900 on the Explorer..got a REALLY good deal on it. so after tax title ect it will be around 3k out the door. then i have around 900 saved up and then the other 1k from the stang is going straight to the bank. im gonna keep saving my money and buy a really clean stocker come summer or maybe hold of till spring and find a really really nice one.
