I've been wrapped up with a ton of work lately, but wanted to share some pics I had done by a local photographer just before WFC9.

My 92 had just been detailed to within an inch of its life, and then the camera and lighting was brought in. I always wanted some nice pics of my car, and I don't have the skills or the gear.

Anyway, here are a couple pics from the shoot and a few I snapped on the same day:

What did it cost for the photographer to come?

I think the photographer and his assistant were both using Cannon SLR's. It may have been the 5D or 1D? Not a 20D, that I'm sure of. I can find out and reply tomorrow.

I had him shoot two cars, and his rate was $100 per hour. It took roughly three hours. He also shot a few of my company's products.

I'd like to hire him back this summer to do some "location" shots out around town to finish the collection.

BTW, here's a shot of the other car, a 2001 Bullitt you can read more about in the sound forum. We just finished a custom audio install in it, and had both of these cars in our booth at WFC9 recently:

Id like to know the cost too, my buddy has a Canon 20D, and im glad I can get those kind of pictures for free.

On a side note they look great, you must be happy to have something like that of your car you can show to everyone

That's my favorite pic!

And thanks, but she is no spring chicken. My friend Joe can make 14 year old paint look mighty shiny!

Mob, he told me he had about 5K+ in his setup with the camera, lighting, and lenses. All pics above were taken in a completely darkened shop, with only his flashes/lights being used. I know a 20D can take awesome pics, so you should look into doing some work and making some extra $$. There are plenty of people willing to pay for good work.

Yea I can imagine theres alot more equipment involved then just a camera, my buddy is the one who paid 1200 for it lol so hes the one looking to make an investment, he lives down the street from me and has been my best friend since 5th grade, so one our days off we just go out and get pictures. Hes looking into taking photo classes, while hes in college, he can set up an appointment or something on his day off and make 300 bucks in a day, thats awesome. I hope to one day get a camera that good, but right now there is no way I could afford it, modding my car is more important and I cant even afford that.

Really nice cars, but in my opinion you got ripped off on the photographer. Speaking as someone that is fairly big into photography, the lighting on the indoor shots sucks. They're much too dark and the first pic has a really bad flash "hot spot" right behind the wheel well. If he was using umbrellas or flash boxes, he should have positioned them farther apart to get a more even light over the whole car so you could actually see the green. The engine pics could have been taken by anyone with a point and shoot. The badge picture is cool, but still too dark. The outside shot is nicely framed, very clear (as it should be if it was shot with that camera), but at the bear minimum, the garage door should have been closed.

While these would be cool shots if you had just taken them with the new digital you'd just bought, if you paid somebody $300 to do them, you got ripped. If you want to see the work of a real auto photographer, check out www.davidgphotography.com His stuff is worth paying for.

Thanks for your critique, but I don't feel ripped off. A couple hundred bucks for several hours of someone's time and experience doesn't bother me.

This was shot with my $150 digital in my driveway, for free. Maybe I have some potential myself (if I close the door next time!) LOL, right.

That's "Photoshop" mode.

Pretty sad when the best shot of the bunch was that one.

Great looking car, Allen. I especially like the badge.
I, too, agree that this was not a rip off. Nice quality pics.

Not bad at all a bit pricey but if you can;t do it you have to pay someone to for you.

I am glad I do photography on the side so I have all the gear to do my own. Fun hobby. Expensive though.
