ok so I swapped in a 94 5.0 into my foxbody coupe (original 4 banger) and then decided to use a painless 5.0 efi harness........ the painless harness needs the foxbody-style tfi distributor, so i installed that and made sure al timing was correct... here's my issue.....
. motor will not stay idling now (donor motor was out of my running 94 and ran beautifully)
-has similar symptoms to a bad idle air control sensor....
-might have something to do with me installing a smog delete /egr delete plate and plug...... (capped the crossover tube for now till i can install the plugs in the back of the heads)
Im thinking maybe there could be a difference between the 87-93 and 94-95 sensors in terms of calibration......
- another fun fact..... the pcm is the A9P i believe... (87-89 automatic). the seller swore up and down it would run a 5 speed engine perfectly fine....
problem #2... my starter stays engaged for about 2-or3 seconds after start up (sounds terrible, cant be good)
any insight, tips and tricks would be greatly apreciated!!!! im trying to do all the work myself.... so far ive allready installed most of a complete MM kit for the car and installed Maier racing flares..... and some other body mods..... the whole car has been stripped down to the shell and is in the process of getting re-wired and eventually caged..... fun stuff except for my tuning nightmare
