Here I go again.. forgot about this one till I smelled it again today...smells like nail polish remover (those who live w/ females might know what I'm talking about...). Acetone. Any ideas why i might smell it? (Car related here, guys...)

I dunno, it's faint and intermittent in the cab... I have a convertible (McLaren, it's not sealed as tightly as a regular Mustang), so it could be outside, but it's def. my car...

Hum.... How about one of your vert lines? Maybe it's fluid out of there (Probably not)

Other than that, I can't think of anything that smells like accetone in a car.

well, the McLaren top is manual; no hydraulic fluid.
I don't think washer fluid smells like that, and it's not a tranny smell, or at least doens't smell like fresh fluid.
My car is a weirdo...

But why would it be intermittent like that?
Even if, it's stronger than a bondo scent...

I don't know.... I am stumpped on your car.

Washerfluid has more of a Methynol smell to it.
Trans always smells well like trans fluid
Clutch and brakes both stink so that can not be it
Gear Oil... well we all know how that smells
Coolant and engine oil have their own unique smells.
I think that is all of them, unless it's electrical or you are driving by the same smelly factory when you smell it.
My car has a burnt rubber / oil kind of smell to it when I drive. I wonder why.

Maybe your wife got under there and changed your oil one day and she accidently let her just painted nails touch your header and now the paint is burning off?
