Any squeeling?? I am rolling up on about 30k miles and the only thing I haven't touched is the brakes. with the KB now I am going to need all the stopping power I can get. No one ever really addresses brakes pads on the boards or in MM&FF or 5.0. A friend of mine changed the pads on his 00 GT with some autozone specials and they squeeled like a MOFO!!!

I am planning to upgrade my brakes. In addition to Powerslot rotors and Russell SS brake lines I am going with EBC "Greenstuff" pads.

reason they squeak is he probably didn't break them in properly. there is a 500mile break in time where you have to break like a normal person not some maniac...

btw.. slotted rotors are no good. they'll eat your pads up like no other. get Brembo double industry standard rotors. They are cheap and will last much longer..

I am curious about what you say about slotted rotors, although I have heard it before. I would think the pad life would be more a function of how you drive rather than the slots. If I am wrong, explain it to me.

The way you drive is also a factor but not as much as you having slotted rotors that eat up pads. The grooves in them tear at the pads. Trust me, speaking from personal experience and many others that have had slotted rotors.

I'm not doubting you. I have read this before. Think I'll forget that idea.

keep your stock brake pads until their worn down. stainless steel lines will help your brake feel and prevent brake fade. Brake fade is when you're pushing all the way down on your brakes but doesn't feel like your stopping.
