Ahh...I've taken a perfect good engine...realiable, consitent, and decently fast (mid 13's)...and I'm tearing it down to install a combo that most likely will be unrealiable, inconsistent, with lots of idle and driveability problems.

Why oh why??? Oh wait...I know...because it will be worth it the first time I'm holding off my buddies LS1

Started tearing into it...tomorrow night and this weekend will be pulling the engine, building it back up, reinstalling and hopefully firing it up.

Wish me luck...I'll probably post an "After" thread about how it went early next week.

That FTI/AFR combo should be real nice! i don't know about it giving you that bad of reliability and drivability though. From what I hear that combo is very livable! hope you have lots of fun with it though!

I got a little farther then you today.

Did you notice that my headers are gone as well as my radiator??? Also yanked the H-pipe, all smog stuff as well. All I need to do no is pull the lower intake, water pump, power steering bracket and A/C and I should be in business.


Jake: No TwEECer yet...I'm planning on driving it for a couple of months and then getting one later in the summer. Don't really have the extra cash for the device and a laptop right now. Hopefully it won't give me too many problems...if it does...well, I'll just deal with it at that time.
