What amp 3G alt should i go with? I am planing on putting a stereo system in it (93 GT). As it is now my amp gauge drops way down at a idle. I see that there is a 130 amp and a 170 amp which would be better for my needs?Any suggestions or pointers.

Your choice. This topic is talked about daily around here.. you could find anything you want to know by searching for "3g*"

My '88 gauge dropped down even without the stereo, just coming to a stop at night it would. The 130 amp 3g from a 94-95 fixed that, and never dipped even with my JL's and crap pounding at night idling.

I asked the same question awhile back and was told basically since you have a 130amp alt to prob just use 150amp. It's not like you have a 170amp alt, so why get it.

Where is our 3G sticky when we need it...?

You can add up all the amperage your car needs and make the decision yourself. I have a 130Amp with an FFI overdriven pulley and my gauge never moves. Well, there was that one time when I fried my DCC and the Mark VIII fan kicked on 100% with the car off. Then the gauge was low when I restarted the car.

88306stang- every has answered your question so i'm gonna correct you- the gauge is a voltmeter, not an ammeter.
