Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3's are awesome! I have a set on my car, handle and grip great! Made six 13.1 passes @ 112mph on them at the track and they look as good as they did before (burnouts and all!). The sidewall is pretty strong for cornering, and the wet traction is amazing with the deep V-grooves

How much are the are they a tire? Where is a good place to get them?
Does anyone have any experiences with the Nitto 555's?

I had the 555s and, for me at least, they sucked in the rain. I just moved to Yoko AVS Sports, and I think they are the best I have had. I had F1 DS-G3s, then the 555s and now the Yokos, and I place the Yokos at the top, but that is my experience. The only downside I have noticed of the Yokos, is the treadwear. 180 is on the low end, but they stick like crazy.

My buddy has the Nitto DR's on his Stang in 315's. They are sweet, however, since they are a DR, they wear quite a bit quicker than a normal treaded tire, but the traction is uncomparable. Plus, since we live in the desert, there is no risk of lack of traction in the rain!! However, they are pretty expensive, you should decide which tire would best fit your need, then go from there.

buy them from the link I provided. you'll pay a premium for quality tires. I think around $200 a pop for stock sized tires.

Thanks for that link Stangless. I need a good sticky tire really that has
good to ok tread wear. I am looking at the Yokohama AVS ES100 245/45/17's
I was told that these and the Nitto 555's were great tires for the money.
Anyone running or know how the Yokohama AVS ES100 tires are?

KDW2s. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=g-Force+T%2FA+KDW+2 Excellent tire. For the price you can beat them. I think Tirerack would be the best place to get them or the other tires that were mentioned.

I have Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3s. These things are awsome. The wet traction is far better than I could have ever hoped for. Lost a new tricked out GTI on an off ramp loop right after a rain. He couldn't take it as fast as me. He had a "Whoa there..." moment...

Next I'm going to try KDW2s. But I may come back to my F1s.

my kdw2's grip much better then my f1's did.

ease into first gear, and the first part of second after the shift and i have no traction issues on the street.

I have yoko es100 and they're a good tire for the price. but I'd save up a bit more and get gsd3s, kdw's or something else. people say the tread isn't the greatest since its a soft tire, but I'm going on 20,000 on them and they look new.

the site I provided has a tread rating scale.

I have nitto 555s on my car and think they are good. Good traction and good tread wear so far. I won't say the SUCK in the rain. I have never had a problem with them.

Yokahamas that I had before the nittos were crap. They sucked wether it was wet or dry. They were good for a smoke show though
