Other than maybe a little extra noise on startup, you won't notice a bit of difference. Some people will say they are better if you are boosting... some people will point out that it's detonation that kills hypers, and it kills forged too .
yes jack, you would need them with boost........it is a protection factor, if you want to build a motor that will last a long time on boost, then go forged. If you are building a fast motor with out boost or nitrous, then you can go with the hyp. piston's........hotwheels
Need? No. But since you're going to be replacing the internals anyway to build the stroker, might as well drop some forged pistons in, the cost is not significant.
forged pistons arent bullet proof... detonation can still kill forged pistons but it'll take a lot more than it does to kill hyper pistons. Go for the forged pistons. Just a little extra insurance so you dont blow anything.
I would never put forged pistons in a stock block unless I was doing a basic rebuild that required to bore alittle to clean the bores up and got them for almost the same price a hyper. You will crack the block before you run into an piston problems with a good tune. BTW Chris on TM is making 600+RWHP with a stock bottom end.
