the v6 and the v8 t5's are the same gearing. truthfully same tranny. when I did my 5.0 swap I swapped in a GT T5 just since internet rumor said it was a little stronger. Well I broke the GT one shortly after doing my AFR head swap. So I thru the V6 T5 back in it. Its still in one piece after about 100 5k+ clutch drops at the track on BFG Drag Radials and MT ET Drags. cut 1.7-1.8's. Not saying its stronger but lasted better. Your best bet though is to find a 99+ V6 T5 it handles roughly 330Ftlbs of torque.
