My car is an '06 V6 Premium convert. Nothing special, a former fleet car, pretty much stock. However, I've noticed these two curved bars (curved shallowly downward) underneath the rear end and under the gas tank, running from each corner of the rear, diagonally and meeting just forward of the gas tank. They're only noticeable from about a 3/4 view from the rear and are about 2 1/2-3 inches wide and about 3 1/2 to 4 ft. in length. What are these? Some type of structural reinforcement for the convert. stang? I don't think they were an add-on 'cause this was a former rental car from Hawaii that was retired and sold to me by a Ford dealer. Anyone know what these bars are for? I have not noticed them on any other '05 and up stangs, but the ones I've not seen them on have all been coupes.

(and, of course, many thanx to TommyRoc, too!) G.
