I was just wondering this because me and my buddy were talking about it yesterday. I told him I wouldn't mind getting into the 10s with a stock 4.6 block. I'm sure people have done it but no one in chicago that me or my friends know. Me and my buddy believe the fastest guys out there are the ones that stick to one combo. So i'm trying to stick with a all motor little spray. Little spray after the heads/cam/intake. I personally like N/A cars with alittle spray no 600 shot stuff.

This year most likely in the next month I'm going to see what e/t my car will do with whats in my sign and full suspension. Once i get my e/t i'll come back with slicks/skins and a built rear end. I would do it right now but i'm not going to go build me my rear end after I just got the whole trans done, full coil over and gettin a wide band to tune. As much as i like my stang i'm not letting it take me to the bank.

Something that turns heads and 300rwhp NA. Nothing crazy, but it's perfect for me... I'd rather buy a muscle car than drop another 10-15K into 1 car

couldve sworn I hit another 1 after the first 1, sorry if I offended anybody

let me elaborate:

High-Mid 11s on the stock bottom end, then a MMR 900 built block, MMR Stage 2 Heads w/ VT Stage 2 Blower Cams, Manley springs, RR intake, Novi 2k w/ MPH Boost Pipe, Kooks LT and O/R X, Viper Spec T56, aluminum DS, Built 8.8" with Mark Williams 33 Splines and Detroit Locker, welded axle tubes and torque boxes, 15x8 Weld Pro-Stars w/ Mickey Thompson ET Streets.

Thats a good chunk of what Im shooting for. If I ever get tired of the novi, I'd like to try a single turbo set-up

Hopefully...

70/75mm TB, intake plenum, mid pipe and catback, short throw, gears, tune, smoked headlights, mach 1 spoiler.

If I stumble across alot of money... Heads/cams, longtubes, do some more suspension work, FR-500 wheels, and if I had enough I would do a nice turbo setup. Or sell the GT and buy a Cobra or GT500... haha, I wish!!!

you guys are talkin about 10s like its easily attainable its pretty damn hard to run a 10 sec 1/4. you need a lot of power (at least 500 to the wheels), and heck of a lot of suspension work (including rearend), and traction out the wazoo. IMHO, 10's are impossible with the stock bottom end. just aint gonna happen. but someone chime in if its been done.

I really don't care what it will run, I'm not building my cobra for the 1/4.

Alls I want is to be able to beat my friends 350Z, like lay the smackdown on it. He's pretty cocky about the car "he" bought (after selling the 200* mercury cougar his parents bought him and then having them pay for all the repairs the 350 needed being as they bought it smashed as well as insurance) Though this may seem like an easy task, you have to remember I drive a tank mustang with NPI heads/Intake Manifold that will probably never be swapped + a McDonald's employee budget Although this summer i'll be starting an internship at Microsoft @ $8 an hour.

My plans are: 3.73's, Procharger, PI Cam's, PI Intake Manifold or if an aluminum one ever comes out I might consider wasting money getting an aluminum one. Other than that I don't want anything elaborate. A little over 300 to the wheels and i'll be happy. After that I might piece together a forged bottom end but College will take precedent over the car starting in 6 months or so.

With the nitrious it will be over 500+HP. 10s are easy to hit...yea right no one in this thread said it is. The point of trying to do that is because its fun. I can easily go to my friends shop, tubro the car and get built motor but there is no fun in that imo.

I have 309hp to the wheels right now and my car will mph 110-112. That mph is good for low 12s on a stock motor. So think about it after if put on heads, cam, intake, slicks skinnes and nitrious you don't think that car will hit high 10s?

I think with a lot of practice it can be done and its will be a lot of fun trying to do it. I'm not trying to do it be like, "O you sh.. is slow mines flyin." Its simply a challenge.

My goals have always have been suspension and handling oriented, but I have been looking at power solutions recently too.

However, I'm having a dilema. With gas prices, and now living in an area where it's feasable, I've been wondering if I should just save up for a motorcycle. It would give me all the power and performance I would ever need, I would actually be even more versitile in traffic, something I really like, and save money on gas while I'm at it. The only problems I'm thinking about is weather (mainly, rain), cost (it's going to be expensive for sure, can I really hold on to 5+ thousands of dollars and not spend it on a blower?), and safety.

I don't knoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow

Remember guys don't let your stang take you to the bank. If you get annoyed with everyone hooking up there cars faster then yours don't worry about it your time will come. I have a really good paying job and I work mon-sat 10 hours a day. As excited as i get to fix my car up i do like having money in the bank and saving.

oh, my plans are waaaaaaay down the road. For now Im just gonna see what I can run with bolt-ons, gears and drag radials before I go nuts with more power. Gotta be able to handle what I have now and not get overzealous and bite off more than I can chew.

x 10.

I spent alot of my hard earned money I had saved up to get this Mustang. As much as I love it and want to mod it... im gonna take my time with it, and if it starts breaking down more than small stuff ill probaly think about selling it.

I rather have some money saved up and not have to worry about paying bills and whatnot than have a bad ass car and be broke.
