Roush What are your thoughts on this foxbody...

Mark knows how to price a car. I think this one has been on for a few weeks.

It's clean enough to be a nice car to own and driver, but a "trailer queen" guy would'nt want it which is silly because of the mileage.

I dunno. If you are thinking about it for yourself, forget it unless you have owned a foxbody vert before. You will hate it.

Thanks, Marcus. So would I not like it because of noice, rattle, body flex, etc.? There was a really nice 89 hatchback on eBay this morning, a blue one in NC I was thinking about but its gone now.

I'm looking for a fox because I may sell my car to save money, buy a house, and then buy a speedster s351 or E car. I don't want a trailer queen, but I do want something in good shape to use as a daily driver for a while. The only thing I know I don't want is a red car, other then that its all good.

If any of you know of a nice fox saleen for sale, please let me know.

Don't sell your car.

It's just frustrating you a bit right now. We need to get you over to Joe when he is not terribly busy.

There are plenty of ways to get you the house you want without selling everything. :D Just ask Robert. :D I have the keys. :D

Yes, good eye. That blue 89 was clean. That is a rare color also. I should just shut up because I love all foxbodies, well, except that yellow one with yellow Flofit pin stripes. :D

And yes. You are correct about what you mentioned about the personality of a Saleen foxbody. You probably wont want a hatch either. Have you driven one yet? If mine wasn't sleeping I'd let you take it out on the road. :D

I think the price is right? Seems like a nice clean car. I have an 89 Saleen vert and love it.
Bart, you have to love your fox vert, its the only Saleen you have left :(

I agree with Mark, you don't want to sell your E car. The numbers you want out of the car are there, you need to be patient and go see Joe when he can concentrate on just your car.......
I'm with Mark on the foxbody subject too. Of my three Saleen's, I won't trade my 85 for the life of me. I guess I'm just a sucker for the old four eyes. You could drive mine but its had a thrid degree sun burn for the past four years :(
Oh yeah, I've still got all three cars and the escrow on the house closes a week from Saturday so no need to dump the car for the house. Like Mark said, he's got the magic.................

Thanks for the responses. I have gotten frustrated with the car. I spent 1,200 to redo the brakes because they started to squeal when braking, only to now have them squeal when I don't apply them. :bang: Turns out my new 650 dollar rotors have high spots that rub the pad. Easy fix, just turn them down a little, but that's just one example of my recent frustration, but I'm not going to sell. :)

I called Joe today and ordered some parts (accufab 75mm TB, Steeda Tri-Ax, improved intercooler) and gave him a laundry list of things I want to have fixed, including the annoying hesitation. He's going to get me in as soon as the parts arrive. I'm seriously thinking of going with a 3.50", maybe even a 3.25" (15-18 psi  ) pulley and a boost-a-pump setup Joe is recommending. Then time for another tune, a little more agressive this time I think.

I'm still thinking about buying an old fox for a daily driver so I'm keeping my eye out. Maybe the beginning of next year.

as an owner of a 88 fox vert... i disagree. i have almost that identical car. absolutely no body flex, no squeaks. you have to be a fox body guy. the subframe connectors, strut brace, and factory x-brace make this car solid. this is going from an 03 gt and 86 svo. now i will admit the fox body cars drive different. i like the difference. just my opinion

Don't be offended Troy. :D :nice:

If everyone remembers here I'm one of the true Saleen fox body lovers. I just know EXTREME has not owned a foxbody before. It might as well be two totally different cars. Not bad, just different. Look what cars he is coming from. It would be a shocker.

Not that the SN95 verts are fantastic. I have owned both. The true difference is that a fox body vert was never made or designed to be a vert. That is why the new 05's are incredibily stiff. Because the vert was designed to be a vert, not a coupe that is sent out to the shop to have the roof removed.

Has anyone else here driven one of the new 05 verts? It feel exactly like a coupe. Amazing.

Au contraire, Marcus.

I'm one of the true Fox body Saleen lovers having only recently sold my '89 after 15-1/2 years of fanatical original ownership. :worship:

Now I embark on what will hopefully become an equally fanatical devotion to Fox4 body Saleens. :worship: :worship: :worship:

I don't understand?

I didn't say I was the ONLY true fox body Saleen lover, I just said I am "one of" the true lovers. I do still have my 89. :D

Oh yea, SVT. Check your PM's. :D

Finally something to disagree with you about...fox vert Saleens to me are top notch for a wkend driver...everyday driver, would agree with you. Add subframes and seal stiffers and you be fine. I have drove the SN verts, and they ride nicer, but the fun factor for the driver is not the same. Could say alot of things to have many different conversations start...bottom line, we all have different taste. Drive it if your intrested and judge for youself. :nice:

Oh well,

I think everyone is missing my point. :D that's ok. :D I was talking directly to Mike, the thread starter. I also am aware that the disagreements are from guys who currently own fax Saleen verts. :D I owned one also. On that note, since Robert now has a big garage, maybe I can go buy a 89 vert I have my eyes on. :D
Mike is going to use whatever he buys next as a daily driver. I had full length subs on my car also.
He has never owned a fox Saleen before. maybe I should have PM'd him.
Fox body cars are apples to oranges compared to SN95's. Anyone that disagrees with me on that has not owned both. :D

Listen, I love all of the apples and the oranges. I just don't want him to go out and buy the first one he see's, falls in love during the moment, and then realizes it's too much of a corner carver after a week or so of commuting. :nice:

Marcus, my garage is your garage, bring over any car you want to have a good roof over its head. Remember, we can buy lifts and double the space. I think there are 10-12 cars out there that we have always wanted to own........ ;) (evil grin)

For those of you who are wondering about this garage,As soon as escrow closes, I will get a few pictures up. The original garage was converted into a den/game room and a 6 car garage was built on the backside of the property. The rough measurments from the appraisel are 25' x 50' for the garage. :D

Sorry for the confusion. I must have misread your original response.

I'm still a bit touchy about the subject of selling my '89. :(

Nope, didnt miss your pt, but again, let me rephase what I said....I have driven (not owned, driven) a hand full of SN cars in my past. I dont and have not owned one because they are like you say apples to oranges. I had the pleasure of driving a 99 SC hardtop for 1 wk. Great riding car! Fun factor is not as high for the driver though in my view. Do I like 'em, YES, would I own one? Nope. DD vert Fox, would not recommand it, wkend driver absolutly. :flag:

Having had 2 fox verts, and an sn95 vert in the family at one time, i'd say it's value depends completely on how it was maintained.

If you are meticulous and don't let problems go too long, you'll be ok.
If you just like to drive, it's not the car for you.
When they start to come undone, they really come undone.

That one that sold on ebay a few weeks ago would be the one for me, but i think it went off for around 25,000.
Prolblem with that car is that it was so sweet i'd be clocking the miles, just to be seen in it.

And marcus, i happened to like that yellow piping :D

That's the vert twin of what my car looked like when i bought it. Unfortunately my paint faded badly and i had to strip it down.

No engine shots really hurts that ad. But yet another car, i'd devalue with alot of driving.
