what brake rotors to buy?

I have never used them but since you are in the market for new brakes why dont you spend a little extra cash and get some mach1 brakes from buyfordracing.com?

If upgrading isnt a option I would go with either brembo, ebc or powerslot for rotors.

Yeah, perfect time to get some Mach/Cobra calipers and rotors :nice: And also +1 on the Power Stop, EBC, Brembo or FRPP rotors.

For my Lincoln DD I had to replace the brakes reciently and used these guys: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
Same brand rotors and pads as these and I have run over 15K on them and they are great! Very little fade and the car stops 100x better then it did. I drive the car hard sometimes and its a freakin boat with Fox Mustang size front brakes so rotor/pad choice was critical. For the price, these cant be beat :nice:

When I did my brakes, I got the genuine Brembo drilled rotors from Tirerack. They were pricey (300ish), but they lasted years and never cracked.

Just beware if you choose Brembos that many companies drill a plain Brembo rotor after it's produced (or slot, or both), making the rotor not as strong as if it was done by Brembo. Also, Brembo makes either/or, and not both (slotted or drilled).

Here's the thing with new brakes..... your car ALWAYS stops better. If someone buys slotted/drilled, or even solid rotors, it will always stop better than your work out rusty old set. So IMO of years of rusty brakes, people who say "slotted" rotors stop "better", only stop better than your worn ones. You are limited to the stopping power of your caliper and the contact patch/size of your pads.

My opinion: if you want slotted rotors, dont spend a fortune on them.
