hello

I would like to know what cams I should put on my GT. Right now
the car is mostly Stock Just a tune and Cat back

I will be modifying it over the winter and was thinking instead of getting
New Rims and Tires I should maybe get cams?

What recommendations would you have.

Thanks

My recommendation would be to forget about cams. You do realize they are going to be $2000 installed parts and labor and tune right?

How are you set on preventitive maintenance?

KT never fails. I agree, preventative maintenance is a very good idea. However, Kilgore can sometimes be a little more stringent than others.

As for the cams..It all depends. Do you see a power adder in the future? Or, are you going to stay naturally aspirated?

Edit: Kilgore Trout's tip-top running cars FTW :nice:

NA for now
Well, if you are planning on getting a blower, or turbo, I would'nt recomend waisting money on a N/A cam..See, if you get a blower later, it's better to have custom blower grind cams..They will maximize the blower's output. However, If you plan on staying N/A, or adding nitrous, I would recomend VT stage 2 cams. Check these sites out..

Its funny how you guys give advice about cams and not one of you even have them. Dont listen to them. Get your self some stage 1s either 262s or vt. I went with 262s cause I have an auto. VTS are better for sticks. I got mine of modular depot for 300, me and a buddy installed them and in a bought 8 hours. I did end up degreeing them down the road cause he is rite you should even with stage 1s and a tune. Cost me about 700.

If you dont know what degreeing cams, then maybe you should not be doing the cam install. What degreeing your cams is getting both sides of your motor dialed in the exact same so they are not fighting each other. Your stock cams in all likely hood are probably between 2-7 degrees of. My cams were 4 degrees of from each other. My passenger side was rite on at 109 but my drivers side was like alittle under 106. Very lean. This is why cams are not something that should just be slapped in and not checked. Go to ************ there are alot of stickys on cam installs, and alot of people on there that know alot about cam installs.
