hey guys can you anme some cars that i can get an electric fan out of the junkyard? what would be best...? is instalation pretty easy? dont they havea plug to the wiring harness on the other car? what do you do about that? anyways thanks alot for any info ...

The most common fans to use are the Taurus/Sable fan, SN95 mustang fan, and the big daddy Lincoln Mark VIII fan. My car makes a bunch of heat and my $20 Sable fan is doing a great job of keeping the car cool.

For the computer you will want to go with a www.DCControl.com unit. They are hands down the best way to use an electric fan that is available. It works far better than any switch or relay that you can buy.

alright, im finally thinkin about doin the electric fan thing in a week or two. i cant decide on what fan to get....but thats not the question right now. im wondering how you guys shroud your fan...if you do at all

I have a MK VIII fan sitting in my basement awaiting install. It's huge, and it has a built in shroud, as do most electric fans. This fan supposedly cools better than the stocker. All I care is that it does the job and frees up some power from the fan belt. The DCC controller is the best one, that's what I'll be using when the time comes.

T-bird fan is essentially the same as the Mark VIII fan too. I have one in my car and the shroud fits the radiotor very well, but you have to trim the depth of the shroud back about a 1/2" or more to clear the pump pulley.
