explode?! I have the silverstar fogs and it went out about a month ago so I replaced it and it went out again but this time it exploded! and left some what appears to be fog on the lens. Is my fog light housing ruined or can it be cleaned? Why did it burst? I didnt touch the glass while installing btw..

water is leaking in I would guess... it is possible that it was cold out and the blub heated up too fast...

I just replaced my passenger side fog about a week ago. When I pulled the old one out I expected to just find a burned element inside, but instead it was shattered in half and there was hardly any bulb left...if thats what you are talking about. I have had no problems with the new one.

For sure you have moisture getting into your fog lamp housing. You should take them off your car, and I guarantee there is water inside. I poured a 1/4-1/2 cup of water out of my passenger side foglamp... after I found the crack and sealed w/ RTV, I never had a problem again.

fingerprints on the bulb. oil from the skin makes them do that. No touchy!

Hell, mine did the same thing just within the past month. And those bulbs are exactly cheap either.

I gave up on removing the foglights though... I dont have the patience.

Well on my car they arent hard to replace, its just a PITA to do it every week! Before I upgraded to clear lense housings, I replaced me passenger side bulb 6 times in a month... luckilly I convinced Autozone it was defective product

I took the whole housing out, my Stangs so low i really cant tell when they are on and off anyway. really only there for looks IMO
