What could cause white smoke ?

This problem is NOT on my Mustang it's on my ****TY beater Pontiac LeMans.

Every morning I take my ****ty crap beater I have a HUGEEEEE white cloud following me for like 2 miles. Everyone is looking at me like i'm some kind of freak. It's worse when I didnt say take the car for at least 12hrs and the humidity level is high. I AM NOT LOSING any Prestone So I highly doubt it's head gasket leak. The cloud doesnt really smell anything. The car also rattles for like 20 seconds when I cold start it, not sure if it's linked. What could cause this !?!?!?

id still say coolent cause, thats about the only thing that causes a big cloud of white smoke.. you only need like a tiny tiny bit of coolent to cause white smoke out of the tail pipe... id do a compression test and that should give you a good idea if ur dealing with a head gasket

Well that's pretty fuxxed up, i'm not loosing any coolants and my temp. is normal !

Most cars make a white cloud when it's cold outside. Does it go away after the car warms up?

Yes but it takes sometimes and the white clouds are HUGE.
When the humidity level it's even worse, when the car sits in the garage it doesnt do it... SO I doubt it's gasket leak.

if its his head gaskets pull out 2 or 3 spark plugs and check for color changes...

Tis normal in cold weather. Also if it sits out in the rain that'll happen. I thought I had a busted head gasket one time after I drove through a flood (literally). Turns out it was moisture in the exhaust.

Dude i'm in Québec I know it's normal, but it's not normal when people driving behind ya are almost stopping because they can't see **** in the cloud!

Do you guys think I can survive until next April with that gasket leak ? I'm not losing any or a tiny bit or prestone, I don't have any money for another beater ATM. It will not explode in my face ?

I cant gurantee it , but if it makes you feel any better.. i drove my eclipse for almost 40,000 miles with a bad internal oil leak, and water leak (probably the head gasket too)

i would start the car up and my neighbors house would be almost invisible because of my smokin hooptie.

cool man... I feel like plating my Mustang since we have no freaking snow... yay global warming... What engine is in the LEmans? Just let the car warm up before leaving your yard perhaps? Less white smoke on the road.

My take for what it's worth... I'm no genius at this:

1) oil is not draining back to the bottom of the motor because you have 200,000 miles on it
2) Head gasket (check oil for chocolate milkshake)
3) Something is fubar

I would've to let it warm up for like 15mins for all the white smoke to dissapear, the engine is a GM 1.5L 4 cyl.

Motor has like 100miles on it.

Pretty sure it's head gasket, I see prestone fluid near the gasket on the right of the motor, see pic in next post in 2mins.

Damn cam didn't focus on the right thing, but you can see the green fluid near the gasket.

Yeah that sucks, thing is that the 4 brakes are new, gas pump is new, gas line aswell along with heat ventilation hose and carb. hoses... And now this happen, now i'm asking myself wether I pay the 700$ something to repair it or just sell it at the end of winter... This is also my daily driver in summer so

If it's just a head gasket I'd think you could do that. I've never done it, but it shouldn't require much work at all unless *gulp* the heads are warped
