I found a guy selling a 67 mustang fender and a 9" rear end, He doesn't know what it came out of. What do I ask for to find out. Does he measure the overall width, if so from what points? Is there casting numbers that would tell me?
I'd ask for pictures of the back side; if he doesn't know where it came from (haha) He may not know the difference between a 8, 8.8 or 9. (possibly even a 6 cyl)
The measurement can be from backing plate to backing plate.
how would i describe the backing plate to him? the flange on the end of the axle housing or it has brakes on it from the back of the brake to the back of the brake (guessing that might come close enough?)
