What do I need for a dyno tune?

My car doesnt feel like its up to its potential so I think im gonna get a tune before I go to the track this year. I was just wondering if i needed a tuner or something for air fuel ratio adjusting. Im thinking of buying the sct2 and the wideband O2 from MD but is that all ill need for the tune?

All i did when i got my dyno tune was bought the SCT Xcal2 and the tuner did everything else, A/F, etc.

you can get a chip or buy an xcal2 or a *shudder* predator.

Don't shudder at the predator...thier tuner (professional) software is just as good at SCT's, their handheld programmers however just offer less user end adjustability (though the Predator offers non-Personal-Computer datalogging capability, that means you need a PC with the Xcal 2, not the predator, though SCT is currently comign out with a new programmer with built in datalogging (www.sctflash.com)).

But anyway, all you need is a flash-programmer that is compatible with your local tuners endorsement (software lol). Ask them if they use SCT or DiabloSport tuning software!!

if you were familiar with the way that the predator programs your car as opposed to how the xcal programs it, you would shudder too. The way the software works is like running windows 95 as opposed to XP. sure predators work, but they are not using a very advanced software like the xcal.

Yeah, that's true. But for the end user, after the tuning has been done...it's all fine and dandy...as long as you have a competant tuner!
