What do think of new intake?

What do you think of the new BBK SSI intake manifold for the 5.0L?
Is it a good intake? Does it flow decent?

flows with the pack, enough to meet the needs of most any 302/306 H/C/I naturally aspirited motors...it has a hefty price though...even the unnecessary fuel rails don't make it economical by any means.

5.0 mustang did a comparison with dyno charts and all that good stuff three or so issues back. Try to find someone who has that issue if you can. If I remember correctly, it flowed well but nothing better than any other one. It didnt seem like it was worth the extra cash. I cant remember for sure though.

i think that intake really boils down to a matter of the buyer's preference. if you're a brand specific person and like bbk i'm certain you'd be happy with it, but if not there are plenty of intakes to choose from. i'm a trick flow person myself. although, i have seen the bbk ssi installed on a 5.0 and it looks kinda spacey.

the intake was also a high revving intake. Didn't make as much power down low. It is a cool lookin intake though.

I just posted a thead a few weeks ago in the talk section about the dyno numbers for the BBK intake. The intake is nice but for that kind of money it's not worth it for most people.

They just did an artical in MM$FF on it compairing it to a ported cobra. It made more power through out the power band. But, it's like everyone is saying, it's all about what you like and future plans are. I'm sure once someone ports one of the SSI's we'll see what it can really do! Plus being able to get at your valve covers without taking off the upper plenum is a BIG PLUS!

It's an awsome intake. I'd definately consider it on a new stroker build. Depending on your combo/future plans it may well be the best. IMO, it isn't better enough to upgrade to it if you already have an upgraded intake, not for that money.

According to 5.0 its very comparible to the GT-40 intake. Not much difference at all. Although its a very unique design visually
