What do you guys take for energy??

Unless you are clinically depressed and/or have mono; your diet, sleep patterns and daily activities are all that will effect how you feel. I found sticking pretty strictly to a 11pm-7am or 10pm-6am sleeping pattern, eating at least halfway decently and getting at least SOME excersize makes it easy to get up and have plenty of energy during the day.

Drop those crappy ass drinks and don't even think about the heart-attack pills.

I wasnt suggesting in any way that you should rely on supplements for energy. Nothing will beat out proper rest, 6-8hrs. a night, and proper nutrition, 4-6 small meals throughout the day all filled w/ protein & slow burning carbs & healthy fats. Having a supplement to help you out on those days when you work 12hrs. and only got 3-4hrs. of sleep, then thats when they help, but you should never take them on a daily basis.:nono:

Ok kids, thanks. Now instead of making a new thread, I'm going to ask here. When you guys mention these foods that are good for you, what are they?? Which do you recommend? I know you don't mean a quater pound her w/ cheese and fries.
Yeah, I'm that lazy to google them.

Im not sure what everyone is doing, but like some guys have said, in college(depending on your major, class load, etc) it can be hard to have any kind of schedule that is the same. I with the guys who say proper rest and eating right are the way to go. It truly is! But college makes that harder. When u have difficult courses with a decent work load, when u work everyday, and you got homework assignments due wednesday, thursday, friday, your weeks are usually pretty crazy. And IMO, those who say to "make time" arent being very realistic. Say that when u see the whole schedule someone has. Eating right and college almost never go together lol. Atleast not on a regular basis.

Like with me, i dont depend on coffee or any "energy drink" everyday. But some days, especially when i was up late doing homework and i have my 2 hour lecture at 830 the next morning, i need a boost.

Anyway, with foods, i've read that celery results in negative calories. Apples were mentioned. I think fruits in general are all great. Same with vegetables. Fish is good for protein. Also peanuts are too. No fried foods.

Stay away from processed stuff as much as you can. Im not saying you have to be strict about it but try to get as much veggies, fruit, whole grain, lean meats such as chicken and fish, tons of water, etc. Trying to adhere to a strict diet is almost impossible, so start by adding the healthy things you like and you can slowly work out the bad.

Processed foods are no good for you!!:nice:
Good sources for protein
1. chicken breast
2. tuna packed in water
3. lean ground beef
4. steak
5. protein shakes
6. fish

Good sources for slow burning carbs
1. oatmeal
2. baked potato
3. yams

All fruits & vegetables are great as they are super low in calories. Almonds are great for you also. Stay away from sugar and drink ton, and tons of water!! High quality h2o.

I have to agree.....I work out regularly and eating large meals will tire you out just having to digest....eat smaller meals more frequently....I have never been able to get a "good" work out in the morning. I do better in the afternoons but I do sit ups and cardio in the morning , just 30 minutes of this in the am and a hot shower will refresh you.....try it for a week and you will notice a difference........good luck

I hear you. These are the days that I blow a rock or two. Nothing gets you movin' better than crack.

If I can't score any rock, I use make do with a teener of Peruvian flake.
