Ok after looking at the regular Cobra R's I see what you mean. The actual "rim" part is thicker.

i just got my set of those in 17x9 all the way around, those 10.5 are sick, but i wanted to be able to rotate. the wheels are better in person than they are in pics. difinetely kick ass.

Definitely not a photoshop...the guy is wearing a tshirt...There's lots of different non-snow sled racing...but I don't know about pavement...
