I am looking at buying this car locally and I was wondering what everyone thinks of the price. The dealership is asking for $6,995. How much do you think its worth. Also, I'm not familiar with that Holley Fuel Injection system that it has. What might this car be running 1/4 mile and what kind of power?
Its a 5speed 144,000 on body.

LAST OF THE FOX BODIES. ONE OF THE CLEANEST WE'VE SEEN. GT 40 HEADS. HOLLEY FUEL INJECTION. COLD AIR INDUCTION. HEADERS. FORD MOTORSPORT CLUTCH AND PRESSURE PLATE. HIGH PERFORMANCE CAM. INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN. NO RUST. COWL INDUCTION HOOD. FAST, FAST, FAST!!!

Shoot him a $5000 offer and go from there. I think $5-6K is plenty though. Go for $6k out the door (tax, title and license and everything). If you got to pay $6995 for it plus TTL, I'd look somewhere else. Just my opinion!!!

When you say holley fuel injection, are they talking about an ignition box, or like a pro-jection system, or... im just trying to figure out if they ditched the stock stuff because of problems, or what the hell they are talking about

I paid $5K for mine and it had A LOT more done to it than this one:
Engine, Trans, Rearend all with less than 30,000 mi
Superior axles
3.73
FRPP control arms
new racers choice shifter
all new shocks
new brakes $ rotors
new fornt sway bar links and bushings
aluminum drive staft
new clutch with motor and trans
new starter, water pump, alt.
chrome valve covers
FRPP header
new h-pipe and dynomax cat-back
new radiator, fan & clutch
new heater & radiator hoses
FRPP balencer
underdrive pulleys
new CAI
new fresh paint
new head lights
center line wheels
90% cooper zeons 225/245
3" cowl hood
new emblems
new cd player w/remote
monster tach
amp gage
oil presure gage
new carpet
subs
new interior
New headliner

My money is on it probably has a Holley Intake manifold so they see where it says "HOLLEY" and thats it.....

yeah but this car might not burn up in 3 days:D im just playing with you i saw the opratunity and to take it sorry lol

5k is a bit steep if you ask me. That's more like $3500-4000. I mean the car is clean looking from the pic and it's got some ok bolt ons but every one of them are in the budget range of parts...like GT40 heads? You can score GT40Ps for dirt cheap....that doesn't constitute 7k. Then the rest is anything you can score from a decent classifieds section for pretty cheap. Realistically you can get everything "aftermarket" in that list for less than 1k. If you take all those parts off, you're left with a decently clean but stock LX with 144,000 miles, and that's a $3500 car at best.

Don't get me wrong, i'm definitely not bashing it because it does look nice and i'd sure as hell drive it, but i wouldn't pay a dollar over $4k. Hell i've got over 4k invested into my car and i've got receipts but i'd be lucky to get $4k out of mine.

Oh, and this whole thing about the red top is giving me the creeps....i just put one in my coupe

im with you on this one. thats a LOT of miles. stick to that when your negotiating with the guy. plus its been molested you dont know who put those parts on. some backyard hillbilly or a professional shop that knows what there doing. start off with $3500 and dont go higher than $4000 unless you really want the car.

Quite a few people have asked about this car so far in previous threads. I believe at least two people have gone to look at it, see if you can get in contact with them and see what they thought of it. But i would say around 5G for it also.

5k dont seem like a outragous price to me:shrug: . Here in Florida its hard to find a nice fox for under 5k. I paid 5k for mine with 129k all the bolt ons, gears, cam, and a bunch of suspension mods, clean and straight and the best original interior I have ever see, factory sunroof that dont leak, new clutch, clean carfax and a folder full of reciepts for all the maitenance and mods on the car. I thought I got a nice car for the money and so did most everyone I know. Maybe its just Florida cars or southern cars in general that are a little more due to be rust free? IDK.

...rust free cars up here are not hard to find either...(michigan) most people know that if they keep them off the roads in the winter you got a good investment instead of a rust bucket...

i think the constant salt exposure from the ocean would be harder on a car then the 5 days of snow we gets up here.

Thanks for the huge response. I'm sure glad to be back. (I sold my 02 a year ago)
I'm having a very hard to finding a clean one under $6000. I have searched everywhere. Anything under $6000 just has very basic stuff on it. I looked everywhere. I wish you guys could help me but I think I pissed off the moderator once already because I posted a link to autotrader. (Sorry again).
:SNSign:
I'm gonna keep looking but look for yourself that its not that easy. Keep in mind that half these idiots don't resond to e-mails because they don't think you're "serious". Alright, I'm off to the classifieds.
(I hope I didn't break any stangnet rules with this reply.)

This was the one listed here in the classsifieds?

Small used car lot???????? Id'e check out there reputation as well. Im just not so quick to jump on a car that has been molested (modded) unless you really know the person that molested (modded) it.
I paid a tad bit over 5K for mine and it was bone staock with veryyyyyyy low miles. Keep searchn and one will come up, but if you feel confident on this one then go for it. Good luck.
It does look good though.
