My stang get's way too frickin hot sitting out in the sun. With the black vinyl roof and black interior, it's literally bakeing in there.

So Here's my idea. Local parts store is selling a 5W solar panel that's made to plug into your cig lighter to trickle charge your battery. My idea is to cut off the adapter and wire it directly to a pair of 12V 2.4W computer fans. From there I'd make a cutout that would hold the fans wedged in between the driver window and roof. I'd leave the passanger window open a crack to allow for cross airflow.

Think this idea would work? I'd let the solar panel just sit on the dash...

I doubt there would be enough airflow to make a difference, but it couldn't hurt. It will help to use one of those windshield screens that either fold out or pop out to sit on your dash to block the sun from entering through the windshield. Tinted windows are another option.

Usually a breeze is stronger than those fans. Is it really that hot in BC?

It gets suprisingly hot here in BC. Osoyoos is about 1hr drive south of me and has the title of "Canada's Hottest City" And I'm also located a stone's throw away from canada's only desert. It's fairly common to break the 100* mark in july/august. So it's no Texas, but does get pretty hot.

I already have a reflective winshield screen and the rear window and rear 1/4 window are tinted limo black. It still gets stupid hot...

I think you guys are right however...it's not going to be enough airflow.

Hmmm..
