Well I got mufflers welded on last week or so and I am currently in the market for some new ones. After straight pipes, these just aren't loud enough. One of my buddies put a magnaflow on his 2004 F-150 4.6 with turn downs and it sounds great. What do you guys think it would sound like if I got two mufflers. Single in but dual out. and had 2 turn downs on each muffler?

i don't know what difference that would make from just having one turndown on each muffler? but if you want loud run sidpipes with some sort of straight thru muffler...get on the skinny pedal and plug your ears! (sucks to be the guy trying to pass you on the highway with his windows down )

Ive had about 6 different exhaust setups on my car since I got it about a year ago. I loved the side pipes. But you cant use mufflers and make it work unless you have the side exhaust mufflers.
If you would have heard my exhaust about 2 weeks ago (no muffs of cats) you would have felt sorry for the world.lol

actually, you can use regular glass pack style (looks, not design) mufflers with sidepipes. just weld them as close to the mid pipe flange as possible, i'm thinking some 18" long muffs or something. i used to have a pic of this setup, but dammit i cant find it.

maybe cutouts would work for you they work for me 1,200 rpm is loud but 6,000 even louder and when you pull next to a nice police occifer you can shut then and be silent running,

I kinda like the element of SUPRISE!

i would get sound clips but iam having electrical problems where the i have to jumpstart it then after a while it shuts of and the battery is completely dead and wont crank so i trying to sort it out

hey bosko it should stay running even with no battery....unless it's something really wierd, i'd suggest getting your alternator tested.

+1 my buddy's car was doing the same thing the other day, so we took the alternator off, got it tested, and sure enough it was toasted. we put a new one on and no more problems

Trust me, I know what it sounds like. I had straight pipes for about 4 months. lol
But no cutouts for me. I had the 100% of the time. lol Never got pulled over either.

Does anyone know how good the cable operated cutouts work? Im not paying $300 for some cutouts.
