What do you think about a 94-95 talk section?

What do you guys/girls think of having our own talk section. We've been getting a ton of O.T. threads.

I think it is a great idea. I don't mind having OT threads in the tech section but I know it could be frustrating for someone who is trying to find a quick answer and has to wade through kill stories, what job do you have, etc. If we can get one, I'm all for it.

I think it would be a good idea. While we may not be as busy over here as the main 5.0 section, we are getting more traffic. There is plenty of threads in this forum that would fit a talk section better than a tech section.

I think a Talk section would be great for the 94/95 boys. There have been a ton of times I had somewhat off topic questions that I didnt post becuase I didnt want to interupt peoples important mechanical questions......

yea i saw we def need one, everytime i post in the 5.0 talk, i don't think any of the guys/girls in the 94-95 specific to see it, so i think having our own sould be an assume idea.

I emailed auburn about this earlier this week, he said talk to fiveofanatic about the idea and he said he has to run it by someone before anything can be done.

Wouldn't be bad, but I don't see it as necessary. We don't get too many off topic posts, besides, I just ignore 99% of them anyway.

I for one don't think its a good idea. I mean there really are not that many of us here anyway, so the few OT threads we have don't consume the boards to where tech questions are getting pushed to page 2 or 3 like what happens on the fox body boards. I think if you do this both boards will be come sort of stagnet without a lot of useage. That's just my opinion anyway. I think its fine the way it is... the old saying goes if its not broke don't fix it. We've been fine here for years without any moderation or talk section, so I don't see a need for change. I say post up whatever you want here, OT or not. We are a fairly small niche in the mustang world and I think its better to keep everyone on the same board/section than going all over the site to different "specialized" places when its not needed. Does that make sense?

Well I was gonna say do it, but listening to KillerCanary kinda has me changing my mind. I still think it would be cool though, and I don't mind opening another section for talk. Let's do it anyway.

We had a seperate 5.0/5.8 talk section on the Crown Vic board. They ended up just combining them, as the talk section saw very little posting. Everyone seemed pretty happy about the decision. The box body guys(as we are called) pretty much just surf the 5.0/5.8 Tech/Talk section. Alot of them don't bother with any other section. I look at our 94-95 section as kinda similar, we have limited numbers so I don't think a Talk section would see much action either.

I guess with the 94-95 we are the redheaded stepchildren of the Mustang family(no offense to any redheaded stepchildren) Seems like we kinda keep to ourselves.

I really have no issues with our forum...3/4 is tech the other is talk...seems to work...The talk kinda breaks it up some....i spend 95% of my time here anyway and it doesn't seem outta control to me...if it doesn't interest me, i don't look at it....kinda nice to see whats going on besides the freakin problems we have at times...

I think its fine the way it is. I probably wouldnt even look at the talk section, thats what the 5.0 talk section is for, and if its really OT then theres always the general forum.

There's nothing wrong with our forum the way it is. It's a perfect balance between talk and tech. Besides, whenever anybody has a tech question it seems to always be answered and fairly quickly too.

I think a talk section would be cool because, like others, sometimes I have some OT stuff that I might want to post but dont because I dont want to clog the forum and have tech threads knocked back. But, I guess as long as there are no real talk Nazis going crazy when someone posts something OT, it is ok the way it is.

i think if we had a section for o/t posts, more people would post in it, they might be holding back now because it would get annoying if everyone did off topic posts with a couple technical questions in between them
