Ok, I have decided Im going to paint my interior black. Black carpet, black seat, etc. Now once I do that I am thinking about getting my buddy to paint my radio and shifter bezels the color of my car. then I will paint the billet ring around my shifter black, abut leave the screws silver, just like my wheels. Then maybe some billet A/C knobs to keep the black, green, and silver theme inside and out. What do you guys think about that idea?

I like the way our cars came stock on the interior. But if you want to make the interior reflect your personality then go for it.

I just think it would go great with my dark theme. And the ring would look like my wheels since they are black and have silver screws in them too. I can always paint black over it if I dont like it. I think Ill go for it.

Just remember...interior pieces get touched A LOT. Anything that can be rubbed will be rubbed and paint will eventually come off.

Just lookin out for ya in the future.

Yea, but they take like 5 minutes to take out and can be repainted in about an hour. And those parts dont really get touched alot. Except for the bar under the radio. Thats about it. Plus I dont usually have passengers that **** with everything. All the people that ride with me know to STFU and dont touch anything unless I give them permission to change the radio.
I just called him and he was on his lunch break. Hes coming pick them up in like 10 minutes to paint them. I should have it back by tonight. that was a quick turnaround.

Thats my Borwning .22 Buck Mark I got when I was 13. You can see the double barrel Stevens 12 ga. and my M1 Carbine between the desk and the thing the .22 is on. (kinda)

And did you use regular spray paint, or did you use the dye stuff?

Looks good! Post pics of the intalled parts. I also hope to find a black interior to swap into mine, a Mach1 or 03-04 Cobra interior would be sweet, but mine being a 'vert kinda puts a limmiter on possibilities.

Looks sweet! I like that better than the billet finish on the shifter rings

Do it! I painted mine black as well. I used interior specific black paint, prepped all panels thouroughly. (I'm sure you know well enough to do that, working for SW) It WILL chip, but mine has held up pretty nice. It's not too hard to repair either. Mine isn't a daily driver though, so it doesn't get driven as much as yours.

One thing though. If you can get a real black console, steering wheel and door sill panels, do it. Those are the biggest wear items. I have a real black console in my car, and I need to put a black steering wheel and sill panels in.

Did you use the dye or the paint?

use krylon plastic fusion... my whole probe was done in that... clean each peice in amonia as well... light sanding always helps... you should just go pull a black interior.... alot easier....

I did it with Duplicolor satin black Vinyl / Fabric paint (Label says that, don't use it on fabric, it'll only make your fabric stiff and scratchy.) It's an exact match for the 94-98 black interiors. My black console is from a 97, my black carpet is from an 03 (My carpet is actually Charcoal, the lighter black.. But I'm on a tight budget, so I had to deal with waht I could get)
