So I just put the lip from mustang tuning on and I bought a spoiler that I was going to paint BUT, the other day my neighbor stops me and says I can have his old saleen bumper for FREE!!!!! Ive seen his car before, its a GT with all the saleen stuff except for the hood. Today I find out that thats not even his car, its his wifes and he drives a 96 Mystic!!!!!. Two houses away from me all this time and I didnt even know it. Well he gives me the bumper and I was planing on letting it sit in my room with my new spoiler(I would put my stocker back on) until I have the funds to get a new rear bumper/ss/hood, then I would paint my whole car since my paint is starting to get pretty beat up. Well now everytime I go into my room I see this thing and it just bugs me not having it on my car. I remember the kid with the green car who painting his car made a post abouit driving around wiht an unpainted bumper and I voted no, but now I know what hes talking about and kinda want to put it on? What do you guys think, rice or nice?

i know it's tempting, but there's nothing like a buddy of yours seeing your car like any other day, and the next time he sees it, it's a completely different car. my vote is to wait and get it all done together. you won't be comfortable riding around with a 2 tone car.

If you don't mind driving around like this

then go for it (by the way greenmustanggt I'm not making fun of your car just using it as an example if your mad sorry.)

Okay, well, you've asked two different questions...
Mix matched body kit parts, or to paint or not to paint...

so i'll take a stab at these things, as i have had some analysis about this myself...
first off, before you do your body on your car, i would SUGGEST to do your rims first...
It just compliments the body so much nicer, and gives your car that finished look without even having to touch the body... afterwards, then customize accordingly.
After stating that, Mix matching body kit parts I think is smart... just because now it gives you an endless way to stylize your car. Hey, if you like a complete Steeda, Cervini, Saleen body etc... that's fine too, but I would never think worse of someone with a cervini bumper, saleen side skirts and steeda back bumper... BUT I would wait to get them all painted at the same time...
And I wouldn't put on one piece without the others. ie: I wouldn't go ahead and throw on a bumper clip without doing any other body mods to a car... Although it may look okay, it will still give a sense of "unfinished" to mustang fans anyway...
I mean, if you're doing up a car... At least I've thought this way, the best way to do it, is in sections, and the sections you decide to do should be portions where, when they're done, you can step back from the car, and go
"I'm Done!"

meanwhile all along you're not done, you're just going on to something else.
maybe that's a bit difficult to understand, so let me quickly just throw down what i'm doing.
My car now is bone stock in terms of looks...
Next Spring, I've decided to do: Saleen rims and rubber, Lowered, Clear Corners, 3" chrome tips and a Vert Styling bar.
That right there will give the car enough of a change that people wouldn't have a clue if I was finished modding my car or not...
The following year? Cervini front bumper, saleen side skirts and back bumper... and s281 wing.

*ahem*
sorry, that's just my opinion.

caldwell, I already have rims, here is a pic when i threw on the saleen wing

Oooh, so that's YOUR car eh?
Interesting! Looks mint... I like it a lot. Well done man. Then I'd stick with what you're driving around now, and just wait.
Your car looks good as is...
I have my saleen rims right now sitting on my floor, I know the pains dude...
I hurt! I want them on so badly!! Ugh, but, no it's all good... I'm going to wait till next year, do it all at once.
Patience my good man :)
I want to show you my new rims.

hmm, i really think its nice of you guys to make fun of my car not being painted. I dont care if you wanna laugh at it. I rock it unpainted style everyday!!!! Its the way every car should be painted, you too can be cool like me. DONT BE SCARED SON!

Hey man, it's just something I wouldn't do.
Are you going to argue the point that you think your car looks better like that, or when [if] you go ahead and paint the whole car the same colour?

your car just LOOKS unfinished.
so if that's the image you want to show off
the, "my car project is still going" concept

more power to you.

I wasn't making fun of your car just using it as an example that all. If I offended you I'm sorry but I did put that in my first post that I wasn't poking fun of your car.
