Hey everyone, hope you’re enjoying your summers. I was in my dealership and was talking about performance parts on my ’06 GT 5 speed. Turns out that the sell a few parts (but not the whole gamut of brands), I’m looking for an cold air intake and chip combo. They suggested (out of the brands they carry) the AFE Stage II CAI paired with a superchip, what I like is that if they install them I won't have any worries with warranty (they're willing to offer that in writing too which is cool). I’ve heard decent things about both brands, but thought I’d see what you all think. How are the superchips, I looked at their website and it doesn’t seem that they are customizable.

Any suggestions? How would you compare the Ford Racing Power Pac kits to this combo? I like the fact that the superchip has two tunes, one with an 87 and one with a 91 octane tune. Has anyone tried the Saleen short throw shifter (I like the fact that it seems to offer a decent improvement at a pretty good value).

Any other suggestions would be much appreciated (including any alternatives or other mods I should do at the same time).

Thanks again,

Matt

Don't know much about that set up, but I would suggest 4.10 gears. You'll really feel that.

Hi Matt, my dealership is also willing, to do the same for me, as well..So, I would definitely take advantage of their offer..However, I have no idea, as to what superchip, your referring to..?? you didn't list the name brand, so you'll need to find this out and then post it..Anyway, I'll be going with the Steeda version, of the Ford racing power pack, which is really designed, by Steeda anyhow.. Therefore, I would highly recommend the Ford power pack, over the AFE stage II CAI..However, If the superchip your referring to, is the Ford power pack, pro cal tool..? You would be much happier with the SCT X CAL II SF-9415 tuner..It's the very same tuner, that I have..And it has 3 preloaded SCT tunes, which is already set up, for the Steeda CAI ( and can also be used, for the Ford power pack CAI ) Anyhow, when you get a moment..Ask your dealership, if they would consider installing the Ford racing CAI, with the X CAL II SF tuner, instead of the FRPP pro cal tool ? and let me know, what they say..If they agree, I'll be able to refer you to a vendor, who will offer the X-CAL II SF tuner, at a discounted price..However, in the event the dealership, doesn't agree..Then go with the Ford racing power pack, if they can order it, for you..If you have any questions, I'm always here, to help out..

Great sounds awesome, thanks for the advice red05bullitgt. The superchip that they offered is the Micro-Max tuner, made by Superchips (http://www.superchips.com/product.phtml?p=12&mmk=582&msg=+).

Would you mind pm'ing me about your Xcal source)?

Thanks again!
