What EFI setup is this??

I was flipping through this mag and saw this setup and it kinda baffled me. It's a carb style roots supercharger with a plate style nitrous setup but it's got an EFI throttle body on top of the supercharger.

Now, i know for a fact you can't run a typical rail style EFI setup with that supercharger because the lower intake is only like 1 inch thick and you'd never be able to put injector port on it. So, all i can think of is that these are injectors up on top of the throttle body that spray downward into it just like a carb does....BUT, where are the fuel lines? The pic is pretty small but all i see are some wires up top. It's a pretty cool setup since it retains the overall appearance of a carbed engine...it might be something that i'd look into down the road if i ever went to EFI.

Holley and Edelbrock make them. They come with a complete harness and computer.

That's what i figured but where is the fuel coming form? Those little red wire looking things? That braided line going into the back of the TB looks like a fuel line but if so then what's the point of the things on top?

Whatever it is i'm pretty sure it's a Holley piece or something they own because that's a Holley built project car.

That's what i'm wondering. I would have to guess that a traditional runner mounted injector setup might be more efficient...i dunno. The key here is that they have to use a setup like this with a roots blower like that. I bet that engine is responsive as all hell, like modded Terminator Cobra responsive.

The article says with a 75 shot of nitrous it makes 456hp and 421tq. It's a 347 btw.

well the reason i ask is because i am looking to go with a injected 392 frpp stroker and the fast, holley, or edlebrock injection system OR the fox ecu and harness but i am trying to figure out which one is the best....

I don't know what the tubes on top are but it works very similar to a carb. One fuel line into the throttle body. When you have a TB injection setup the same rules apply to port and polishing the intake runners as when you have a carb. You want the ports a little on the rough side so the fuel stays in suspension. When you have a SEFI like comes on Mustangs you can polish the ports glass smooth since you're only worried about getting the air in as fast and smoothly as possible.

Camaros used this type of setup on 305's all through the 80's. The 302 Mustang used a SEFI. Which car was faster? The Mustang did have a bit of a weight advantage but it wasn't enough to make up for the huge performance difference.
