i am concidering purchasing a 75mm accufab tb/plenum setup for my 2002 gt, and i was wondering what else i need to make it more effective. i heard that i need a larger MAF and air tube (dont kno the official name) but i dont want to spend $120+ on a CAI if it wont do anything for performance. any input will be greatly appreciated.

The whole Plenum/TB combo is a waste of money. If money is a concern then you should be using it a little wiser. You will basicly be spending around $100/hp if you go this route and got a CAI as well.. My advice, stick to the effective power mods. Dont waste your time and money on the pretty chrome tube under your hood that gives you .8 rwhp. Good luck, Bryan

agreed. if i went back i wouldn't:
MAF, TB/plenum, pulleys
Yah, I don't have any experiance with before after sotp or anything, but based on dyno's and proven numbers when going for cost/hp they just dont seem worth it. Cams are debatable, I will do them eventually simply because I will have my family pool up and order them for my b-day in may and I can justify spending the money on the other parts. But $/hp it really isn't worth doing cams when your N/A either. Unless your like me and the rumble of a cammed stang is worth at least 200 of the $525-600 for the cams :hail2:

what do you mean it isnt worth the money. the dyno charts show that it is 11hp 15 torque increase. i am planning on getting headers, pullys, timing adjuster, 3.73 gears, and the o/r x-pipe is in the mail right now, and i have flowmaster 2chamber mufflers. will cams be a good option on a daily driver? i didnt want to buy cai because i heard it didnt do much, but then i didnt want to get a 70mm or 75mm tb/plenum and have it not be effective because my stock air tube is too small. thanks for all the info.

That 11hp gain is probably on a supercharged car. On N.A., it'll be more like 6-8RWHP. You decide if that is worth the $400-$440. If you really want a CAI, I would get the K&N FIPK II. It makes the biggest difference according to dyno sheets. lThe stage 1 cams will give you about 20RWHP and yeah, I think it would be streetable since you're getting 3.73s.

well how about the C & L tb/plenum? those dyno charts show about the same (11hp/15 torque), but they say on a mildly modified gt, like what i will soon have. i was going to go with the 75mm because it was the same price as the 70mm, and i figured might as well go big now in case i need it for the future. it wont do any damage being too big will it? thanks for the info :hail2:

I have Accufab 75mm TB and C&L intake plenum. I dyno'd 255rwhp SAE with the intake stuff, C&L 80mm MAF, catted X, cat back, pulleys. So if 5 speeds average around 225rwhp stock, I gained 30rwhp from almost all the bolt ons. :nonono:

I wouldn't do the intake stuff again. Unless I was blown maybe.

if i remember correctly, the rwhp was arounf 260 when dyno'd, and after the install it was around 275 or so. so it wasnt pushing 400hp. right now i dont have the money for a s/c, and i wouldnt want to go that route. plus its a better feeling when i can beat all my ricer friends with all engine. so maybe i should add the tb/plenum when i have everything else and i have an extra $450 laying around? thanks again

so what would you suggest, other then a forced induction system, though twin turbos would be nice
remember that a tri-ax or pro 5.0 shifter, 3.73's, headers, and maybe a diablosport tuner are on the horizon. oh and of course a radar scanner :D
thanks

I want cams, gears, LTs, and drag radials... :D
