What exhaust cat-back provides the best HP for the best $?

I have seen the chart, but its an older one. But i wanted to know, since my taillpipe now has a hole it in, which one i should get if i do decide to get a new cat-back rather than just 2 new tail pipes?
Flowmaster is what i have, and EVERYONE has it.
Whats out there thats good and a good price?

Considering your setup, I would say something straight through. Otherwise I don't really know if it would matter that much. Whatever you like the sound of the most.

Nate, get a mac cat back. I just heard my friend matt's car last night and it sounded killer. He has a h/c/i 5.0 with my old bbk longtubes, dr gas X and the mac cat back.

If you have a hole in your pipe, put some muffler putty on it. No need to spend $300+ on a cat back when theres more ideal parts you need now

I like my Mac catback... it'd probably sound pretty mean on your car, considering how it sounds on my stock 5.0.

MAC is cheaper then Magnaflow- however also provides less hp gains-

$ per hp they are pretty equal-

It all depends on how much you are going to spend- you will pay more for Magnaflow- but that extra money will get you the same hp/$

so from that stand point, they are both a good choice-

Magnaflow for there straight thru design. Also it seems hardly anyone ever mentions dynomax's. I have these but dumped and I love the sound. It reminds me of the old musclecars of the past. I guess cuz all that glass packing they put in.

I had Mac on my old 88. I really miss that sound, if i ever get a new catback, thats what i'm gonna go with.

HP & Mufflers? Come on the issue is more about sound, the power gains are not really noticeable. I slapped catback flows on mine and all I noticed was the sound. Correct me if I am wrong.

Dynomax Ultra Flo Welded. They flow over 1000 cfm compared to Flowmaster's 450 cfm...I think it would be sufficient.

Well Flowmasters are more sound oriented then anything- they were built more for sound then hp- so that would probably explain it-

I picked up 7rwhp on my 5.0 with bolt ons going from Flows to Mags on a pretty much stock 90 GT

that 7rwhp was probably attributed to many other things. ambient temp, oil temp, coolant temp, etc... you wont even see 7 going from stock to a dynomax.

i run equal length headers, through a bassani off road xpipe and into a mac cat back....love it compared to my old old old flows, im not gonna lie i felt a lil power increase, but nothing to even really talk about..lol

Yeah, maybe on a stock engine, but on a car with an H/C/I combo it could make a huge difference.
