I am installing a 86 AOD in a 66 Mustang with a 289. What flexplate do I use and where can I buy one? I have heard Windsor Fox is not good to deal with and Ford Racing has them in their catalog, but they are backordered from Ford. Does anyone have or know of any other sources?

Could use the old one. Have a machine shop drill the new holes for the AOD converter.

get a flexplate for a 69-up 351w with fmx or aod. same as what other places will sell you for more money. redrilling your current one won't work unless you already have a 164 tooth flexplate. most likely you have the 157 tooth which is a smaller diameter than the 164 so it won't allow the starter to engage

Also same as the 164 tooth C-4. If he needs one, I've got a dozen of these laying around.

Yea, 164 tooth with a 28 oz imbalance is what you need.

Yeah, I was looking for c-4 parts a year and a half ago, and that was all I could find. Stupid big bellhousing's.

The pan-fill C-4's were all big bell, 164 tooth models. I've run across more of these than the smaller 157's.The newer C-5's were also 164 tooth. I think I may have scrapped a half dozen of those flexplates a year or so ago, they were starting to pile up.
