What fluid SHOULD i run in a stock 8.8?

Doesn't switching to synthetic late in life of the part start leaks??


I'm not sure about that. What I've heard is that adding synthetic ENGINE OIL to an engine that has never had it actually breaks-up deposits. (even around the seals) Since it flows "thinner" and removes built-up sludge, it causes leaks. Of course, I'm sure that the companies that were invested in "dino" oil wanted everyone to know that. ;)

I'm not sure it would do that in a rear-end.
