Putting new FelPro gaskets on my lower-to-head and lower-to-upper since I dissassembled it all for porting. What gasket adhesive is best for this application?
they make this stuff in a can, kinda a purple stuff, high tack gasket adhesive, comes with a brush in the lid, messy as hell, works great.....some use weather stripping adhesive......i'm sure they make the gasket stuff in a tube as well....permatex brand i beleive, fel pro makes their own called felcobond, same stuff i think
All you need is a thin layer of blue or red RTV around the water ports on the lower while the reast of the gasket is left dry. Also put RTV on the valley gasketsand let it tack up a little if they are cork, but the silicone end gaskets are the best. The upper-to-lower intake gasket does not use any sealer.
Actual gasket adhesives make it a pain in the ass to remove anything later.
