I have a 99' Cobra... I have the stock gears in it and I want to put some lower gears in. I have a set of 3.73 and a set of 4.10. I hear 4.10's work really well in the Cobra's since they dont make much power till 4 grand but I don't want too lose too much fuel efficiency, but I want my car to launch like a bat out of hell.... would 3.73 do much or should i just go with the 4.10's?:

With a cobra you definitely want the 4.10's no questions asked.

Every one will have bias answers. Here is mine:

4.10's for strictly N/A
3.73's for blower/turbo/spray

A set of 4.30s will really wake up that DOHC... but the 99/01s do have a more stout low end than the 96-98s thanks to the revised intake, C-heads and revised intake cams. So you might be able to get away with 4.10s, but nothing less than that.

Gears made of metal are the best. Plastic, carbon fiber, and ceramics do not hold up very well at all...

Don't fear the gear.

Honestly 4.10's at the bare min for a 4v. I know lots of PA 4v guys that run 4.30's and say it's not enough gear.

I sorta wish i went with 4.10s in my gt. O well 3.73s are fine for now. But no matter what gear u get its gonna kill gas mileage cause its just so addicting lol. Mine went from 18 to 13 after 3.73s cause i couldnt keep my foot out of it.
