Stupid me figured "Hey, if I'm just gonna put nice sized 5.0 disc brakes on my LX anyways, whats the point in dealing with that terrible grinding noise?". And then when I found out that I'm years away froma budget where I could do that and had to actually replace my pads, ouch.

3 days, 100 dollars and a complete rear brake hardware kit, adjuster kit and all new calipers and pads for the front makes for a very nice car that actually can stop now.

I'd say you got off lucky too. Brakes generally aern't really things that you want to be ignoring. You should feel fortunate you didn't end up in a ditch somewhere or in the back of the guy infront of you who had to slam his brakes. Sorry, I don't mean to sound like your mom, I'll shut my trap now.

shew my brakes on the cougar are going to fall off soon because they (clack clack calck clack) when you are light on them. And it has wheel locks and we can't change the brakes until they are off.

There's nothing wrong with 4 banger brakes power wise.
