1011-2 = .039" thick and seal ring = copper
1011-1 = .041" thick and seal ring = steel

Supercharged setup?.... choose the 1011-1's

On the subject of gaskets, if I have a complete shortblock and am going to be putting on my heads/intake what gaskets do I need? Just the head gasket and upper/lower intake gaskets?

Its N/A and with 10:4:1 compression. So go with the 1011-2's then?

Thanks

I think summit sells a complete gasket kit which might be cheaper for you. IT comes with every gasket for a complete from the oil pan gasket all the way up to the throttle body gasket. has Everything buddy

Ok guys, i just looked that up on summit and it seems to be about 15 bucks cheaper then the 1011's. Why would you go with the cheaper felpro rather than the more expensive ones?
thanks for the input

I've seen 9333's on every thing to 9 sec. blown setups to my 10 sec. N/A setup. They work.

9333s have metal rings in them. they are a good gasket i have them, i used them with my blower pushing 13 psi and i never blew a gasket, your tune is going to affect the HG life rather than the gasket itself.

i think there is a myth that boost kills gaskets quicker, IMO what kills them is raising boost without adding fuel or retarding timing. since a blower/turbo raises compression, you become MUCH closer to the detonation threshold, and without retarding timing or adding fuel to control combustion temps, your going to detonate and most likely toast the gasket. its detonation that kills gaskets not boost really. make sure you tune the car or have it tuned good and you will be fine.

people seem to up the boost and blow a headgasket and blame it on the boost pressure, but usually its the lack of adding fuel or taking away timing

i ran 1011-1s for like 30 mins when i had irons heads, but i had the heads off for some other issues so i just went with what everyone said, the 9333s, and i havent had any problems.

plus i think the 1011s are a little thinner gasket which will slightly raise compression which isnt really the ideal thing to do with a blown setup.

1011-1's or 9333's, 1011-2's don't seem to be that "sturdy" based on the pic below. Even though studs were also installed, I won't use 1011-2 HG's..... they were replaced with 9333's and have held up fine.

9333's were what my machine shop recommended. I blew a head gasket last summer and had to take the heads in to be repaired/freshened. He told me use the 9333's.

Yeah i did just get it in may. Honest to god, I woke up one morning and said to myself i want to build up a 347 stroker n/a to see what all the hype is about with low end torque. So i sold the blower and transfered the money right over to fordstrokers.com and had him build me a stroker. Eh, i needed a winter project. Call me crazy, hopefully someday, I will have my mind setup lol.
