What cam would you reccomend for a stock motor with just a track heat intake, how about the tf stage one cam is that good? I would also like to know a step-by-step how to install a cam. what tools do i need? ive never done one before, but im sure i can figure it out!

tf stage one

This is a really nice cam. I just installed one in a 91LX notch and the idle is just enough to let everyone know it is not stock. The car has LT's and OR h-pipe and flows, and it sounds great. HP increases were not as great as I expected, but this set up still has stock heads and holley intake. A good set of TF heads I think would make a huge difference now.

You're wasting your time trying to get more power from stock E7's by changing the cam. The HO cam is not a bad cam, and it's designed to work with the E7's. Given the amount of effort involved in swapping out the cam, I'd suggest that you wait until you do heads.

You need new springs when you use an aftermarket cam on stock heads. It would be a great idea to replace the retainers and valve seals too. It's not worth it unless it's a purpose built car, which I doubt it is. Guys are running stock cams into the 11's, the cam isn't the weak point of our cars, it's actually one of the strong points.

Since you are dead set on changing the stock cam out, i would at least wait until i got heads and do it at the same time. I installed my cam and 1.7rr at the same time, before any heads. I wish i had just installed the 1.7rr for a little added lift etc. (they should give you a little more sound.) and waited for my heads for the cam. The idle will suffer etc., you will gain very little power, and your daily driveability will suffer without chip tuning or a tuning device. I have figured out one thing when people such as VIB, KILLLER, RC, RIO, OINK, etc. all agree on something you can pretty much take it to the bank.

Robin Lawrence ran 9's in Real Street awhile ago. That's with a power adder though, but still the stock cam.
