what im i looking at for shortblock install

ok guys what is a reasonable price to have my old motor pulled and my new shortblock installed with my old motor heads

a simple shortblock swap i called a shop out here in whitemash in maryland and the guy said 2800 bucks for them to do the swap i did not even respond i jsut hung up the phone

any help would be great i know its not going to be super cheap but 2800 bucks sounds like a lot almost sounds like me ordering a second shortblock lol

Really though, find some Mustang specialists shops and call around. Probably anywhere between $1000 and $2000.

I just had mine done and I am picking the car up tomorrow (hopefully). I paid $800 and then an extra $200 for him to install new cams and springs while hes at it. The car also has a blower and IC on it so he had to remove all those goodies too. I didnt think $1000 was too bad for all that.

This guy is a friend and the top SVT Mechanic at a Ford dealership and has built numerous engines.

If you want I can do it on the side for you. I was the one at Kauffman Motorsports who used to do the engine builds and swaps. Even though Kauffman's has closed I'm still doning stuff on the side for old customers and friends. Things like head swaps and blower installs at cheeper prices. Shoot me a PM if interested.

i think i am going with the mmr900 shortblock and if i can get the motor out of the car i want to have the heads ported alittle before they are put on to the new shortblock

kauffman if your close to me here in maryland be glad to talk to you about doing the work

but if i had to have a shop do it you guys are saying that 2000 bucks would be about rigth or no for a shortblock sway

Ya, it's now SGS and no longer Kauffman's. Dave is still the tuner, but they are more of a service garage than a performance shop.

can anyone give me a price on a general install for a shortblock vs a motor install

i mean i have had motors installed before and it cost 900-1000 bucks

but for a shortblock install i was told by one shop 2800 bucks and that sounds crazy or is it that much more to have the heads pulled and moved to the shortblock

Like I said I talked to my guy and hes charging me $800 I talked to some one else and he told me $1000. So I would say at most $1200.

I would say $1200-1500. I paid $2100 but that also included the KB install and a few other things.
