I need one. Nothing else to it. But I know there is a plethora of impact guns out there ranging in price, size, power, and reliability.

My question for you folks is: Which gun do you prefer as the best VALUE and why?

I'd get it, but I rather have the FWD/REV switch on the back, as a switch, not like that.

This is the gun I have http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=2623

It works pretty well. On my buddys truck, we couldn't get the lugs off one wheel even standing on a 3 foot breaker bar, but this gun just zipped them right off.

I have a snap-on, which was very pricy, but it's has a lot of power, (1000tq in reverse) and is suprisingly quiet for it's power. If you turn the dial up all the way and open the muffler bypass, it's like an air hammer/chisel. I also have a IR, good gun for the money, lots of power. Don't get a cheapo.

If its a tool that you use to make a living then I agree, dont get a cheapo, but if its for your garage at home then it doesn't realy matter. My dads cheapo central pneumatic gun is like 12 years old and works great.

I'm not using it as a life long tool.

I just need it for occasional bolts.

I'm not going cheap, and not going snap on either.

I've been using a craftsman one for over a year now at work, and it seems to work fine. It was less then 200....can't remember exactly how much it was.

I don't think I have a use for a compressor that size. Could be nice to say I have one though.

I use IR impacts, mine are the composite versions. A lot of the air tools Snap On and Matco make are just rebadged IR impacts with a premium price.
A quality air compressor makes a world of difference in the output of your air tool also.
