WHAT is going on with my baby??!!

ok, just had ram king cobra clutch put in 2600 miles ago, and it's doing swell, so, it couldnt be that. everything else is all good except cracked intake manifold which i have been sealing up myself until my new one arrives. ok, here's the problem....under any kind of acceleration, usually when the gas is right under a quarter of the way down, the car will start to loose power and acceleration because it starts to 'sputter' and kinda knock and hesitate. and it will do it all the way through the rpm range. it's bad when driving, and when sitting still in neutral, i can rev it all the way through rpm range (up to around 5500) and you can still feel it. not as bad though because the car isnt in gear. it almost feels like a lot of friction in the motor at a standstill. i took it to cottman after i was clueless and they checked everything out, and test drove it and said that it's nothing wrong with anything in the drivetrain, it's under the hood. he said it's probably plug wires. i just replaced the plugs with the clutch and didnt do the wires because slack on $$$, but, i noticed that it did it a little bit then (not as bad as now though). but, im thinking of getting some FRPP 9mm wires and throwing those on and if that doesnt work, then i'll redo plugs, and if that's not it, i'll do coil packs. then, i dont know what after all of that. i've done fuel injector cleaner too thinking it was injectors, but, nope. GUYS, PLEASE HELP ME FIX MY SICK BABY! she's still got it in her, but, she's just sick right now. help me get her well! i appreciate any advice/suggestions/comments. thank you. -Jeff
ps-just wondering. the plugs i put in were autolite platinum plus. ok, i know they aren't the best but not the worst, but, nobody told me about gapping them or anything or torqueing them or anything. i just took the old ones out one by one and replaced it with a new one. i just put them in until they were tight. was that a problem? was there anything that i was suppose to do before putting them in or any special way to put them in? just wondering. because this problem could be a fouled plug or two, causing misfires and tell me how to CORRECTLY put in plugs. also, i took it to advance auto and got them to do a diagnostics on it and the only thing that showed up was the emissions below threshold on banks one and two becuase i have no cats. thanx. :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:

I would pull those plugs out and gap them, and toss on a new set of wires. Motorcraft plugs are just rebadged Autolites, so the Autolites are good plugs. If that doesn't fix your problem, take a look at your Mass Air Meter. Mine had somehow collected one of those cotton tree seeds with all of the fluff on them, and it was making my car run like crapola. Good luck!

it's fixed. :)

:D it's fixed. oh yea. all i did is go to autozone yesterday to get new wires. because i had the stock wires on there with new plugs and the wires had 131000 miles on them. lol. that's why. i just got the cheapest wires and my CAR IS BACK AGAIN! and i can really REALLY feel how nice that clutch is now. it's great. it bites and just keeps on all the way through the rpm's. now, all i need is a new intake manifold, anyone have one for sale cheap? let me know please. right before i changed my wires, at the stoplight on my way to parts store, the car was misfiring so bad and knocking that in N at the stoplight, it felt like a musclecar with a huge big block in it, i was bouncing up and down it was so bad. it was horrible. im happy now. how would i go about getting that really nice clutch smoothness 'like butter' in my pedal? mabey a new cable? because funny thing is, it was like that when i had that king cobra put on for like a week, then it starting getting kinda stiff now. how can i fix that? any help would be great. thanx guys.
